Children attending BCC on a Sunday morning can join one of the following sessions.

If you are visiting for the first time, we will help get you and your child to the right place. Please accompany your child to the session so that we can register them.

Crèche is for children aged between six months and three years. It is located on the second floor of The Mill.

We want creche to be a place where young children and families can connect with the church community and where little ones feel secure, experience God’s love and have fun.

The crèche is supervised by a team of volunteers three weeks out of every four. This enables parents to return to the service, although you are welcome to stay with your child or remain with them until they feel settled. On weeks when the crèche is not supervised, parents are still welcome to use the space and toys available.

Wavemakers refers to activities for children age 3, up until they move into school year 7.

Wavemakers groups use The Millers Bar and Long Room, both of which are located on the first floor of The Mill. Parents and carers are asked to drop off and register children before returning to the service, and to collect them afterwards.

Children usually spend some time together as a whole group for games, sharing and worship, before splitting into three age-based groups for further activities.

  • Bubbles – for children aged 3 up to school year 1
  • Splash – for children in school years 2 and 3
  • Extreme – for children in school years 4, 5 and 6

We have a desire to see our children and young people loving Jesus and following Him, fulfilling their purpose in our church and the wider community.

We want to develop our children’s ministry so that it becomes a place where children’s hearts are connected to God and healed; where they build firm foundations knowing the promise that God will always be with them.

Other children’s ministry activities

As well as meeting together on a Sunday morning, our children can also join:

  • Events on a termly basis – previous themes have included Easter Joy and Advent Fun.
  • Children Changing Nations – coming together with other children’s groups to pray for God’s kingdom in significant places in our country
  • Quarries Camp – joining with other children’s groups for an exciting weekend in June.

The children’s ministry team meets monthly to pray and seek God’s direction on the future of children’s work. All volunteers undergo safeguarding and other training relevant to the role and all leaders are DBS checked.
